No smoking in Berkeley?

Mayor Tom Bates of Berkeley, when asked about the new smoking ban in public parks in San Francisco, said he loves it and will seek to make it illegal to smoke in a cars carrying young children in Berkeley. "I'd like to say you couldn't smoke in Berkeley," said Bates.

There's a movement gaining momentum in the Bay Area to legalize marijuana but Bates didn't say if he was only referring to banning tobacco. After all, we're talkin' about Berkeley.

So do you just spend all your time out there laughing your head off? What a bunch of loons!

Ya know, I'm just a hayseed from Kansas and the first few years we were here I was too awestruck to see the humor. I've learned to have some fun with it but it's so crazy that it's a bit scary. Some of these wackos vote and make laws and stuff!

Should we do away with laws that require children to be in carseats? Julie: If you would have called them idiots instead of loons, you would have swayed my opinion.

Actually, I wish people were smart enough that carseat laws weren't necessary.
